Millennial Moms: Andrea Gallego-Patrick

Andrea is family! She is a beautiful person inside and out, and I automatically thought of her when we decided to do the millennial moms series this year. She's very hardworking, one of the sweetest people I know and an excellent mother! Not only does she care for her son and her husband, but the whole entire family. Even though we don't live nearby and don't get to see each other as often as I would like, we always keep in touch and make sure we are all OK. Isn't that what family is all about? Making sure we always protect each other and that we are all doing good? That's why I chose Andrea for this year's Mom Series...

My Go-to Inspirational Talks from Empowered Women

In Honor of International Women's Day, I’ve decided to share my top favorite talks given by empowered women. These speeches are all different, but they all have one thing in  common; They are given by inspiring women who have had to speak louder to get their voices heard. Throughout the years these talks have helped me to lift my spirit when I have needed it the most ( personally and professionally) and have inspired me to move forward in despite of challenges. Each of these women somehow are making a change in the world. Their acts have become motivation, their deeds have become an inspiration and their eloquent speeches have become words of encouragement for so many other women. I hope...

New Year! New Habit!

Kats posted about goals last week so I wanted my post this week to tie in with hers. After all, it is a new year and it’s generally the time we all start making positive changes in our lives. My sister-in-law was talking to me last week about a psychology class she took recently, and one of the projects her class had to do was to stop a bad habit for a week. In the past, I have done personal projects like this one, but I wanted to share a little bit about our conversation with you guys, hoping it will inspire you to try this challenge as well! :)  I was intrigued by this topic because it reminded me of...

Baby on Board!!

I am so happy to finally be able to share this exciting news, which by the way was sooooo hard to hide, especially when you have ALL-DAY sickness. I refuse to call it morning sickness when it’s an all-day thing! Even through the sickness, I am staying positive because of the beautiful gift it comes along with. I am 3 months pregnant and my husband and I are beyond excited and grateful for this new chapter in our lives. We still can’t believe it’s real LOL. God’s timing is so Perfect! It was an amazing gift for both of our families, and we were so thrilled to announce it on a beautiful day, which was Thanksgiving; A day to stop...

Empowered Women in Small Business Spotlight: Daughters Legacy

November is National Small Business month; a month dedicated to celebrating the contributions and successes to those who are small business owners and are growing the nations’ economy. In honor of this month, Nats and I decided to create the Empowered Women in Small Business Spotlight series. We collaborated with an amazing group of fiercely talented women entrepreneurs, who have shown us that with passion, love, and resilience anything is possible.  These successful women entrepreneurs are creating better lives for themselves and paving the path for tomorrow’s women business owners, while also becoming powerful contributors to gender equality. We hope you get inspired by their stories, and that you remember that any dream can become a reality if you work hard...

NY state of mind

If there’s a city I can never seem to get enough of is NYC. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve been there, I always discover something different every time I visit.  I used to travel there every year, but somehow last time I was there, I didn’t have the best experience. However, I knew I had to be back and be able to fall back in love with this concrete paradise. Nats was born in Queens and she loves the city as much as I do! So, it was very exciting to wrap up my B-day week traveling to NY with her.  We knew we wanted to have a chill trip with no rush and open to making new memories....

Red,White, and Blue!

Happy Fourth of July everyone! BBQs, picnics, and sparklers are the first things that come to my mind when Independence Day is near. Here, I have put together a fun red, white and blue table for inspiration. Nice and simple décor can really make a difference for an awesome 4th of July with your family and friends! As women/mothers/daughters, etc., it’s important to keep traditions alive. This is a fantastic way to keep family gatherings fun and interesting, and it gets everyone involved. While my mom, sister and I decorated the table and set the drinks, the guys were making burgers and the kids were running around playing. We were all enjoying ourselves. Getting to look back and seeing the pictures...

Father’s Day Spotlight: Mauricio C.

My dad! Funny thing about him is that my siblings and I actually refer to him as Mao, and that’s always been the case. To me, feminism doesn’t mean hating men, but instead the support we give each other. The definition of feminism is the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes, according to Merriam-Webster. There are many men that support us women and help us get to where we want to be. My dad has been a perfect example of what a great man that supports women looks like! He is the one that taught my siblings and me how to read and write in Spanish. Every night he would sit with us for about an...
