Lately, I have realized I’m more into skincare than makeup itself. #beautyjunkie I’ve discovered that it doesn’t matter how good your makeup is, if you don’t have a good canvas to work on, no product will look good on your skin. Getting closer to 30 has also influenced my level of awareness about self-care (Including eating habits and self-love) and therefore, taking thoughtful care of my skin. My nighttime routine has definitely become a whole ritual and went from some basic makeup remover towelettes to up to 5 steps. I have been using the following products nonstop for about a year, and my skin has never looked better! I still get some random hormonal/allergic rashes here and there, but the elasticity and skin pigment overall have improved to a 90%. Have in mind that I started using makeup a long time ago, and even though I have never been acne prone, I was definitely very self-aware about the depigmentation of my skin due to the chemicals on makeup, and let’s be honest- aging also plays a huge role on your skin’s appearance. #embracingtheearlyagewrinkles #realitysinkingin
I would love for you to try some of these products and to let me know below if they work for you too! 🙂
Step One- Take off your makeup. This is the MOST important step of them all! I use the Neutrogena makeup removal towelettes, and have been using them for years! One of these work for my whole face- including those days where I wear waterproof mascara. I usually buy these in bulk from Sam’s or Costco to get a better deal #Savingthosedollars
Step Two– Wash your face. Even though the makeup remover can remove a lot, you still have to make sure you remove all the pollution and impurities that are sitting on your face. Remember that your skin repairs itself at night and a clean skin can absorb skincare products better! I use the Wild Rose Exfoliating Cleanser from KORRES at night and in the mornings too. I was introduced to this brand when I was in Greece two years ago, and I fell in love! They have amazing products and most of them have super natural ingredients and they are cruelty-free.
Step Three– Apply toner. I use the Dickinson’s Witch Hazel that I can’t live without, and have been using for years, or at times, I switch it for the Roberts Firenze Rose Water that I mentioned on one of my previous post.
Step Four– Add serum and face oil. This is the favorite part of my nighttime routine 🙌 I use my CAUDALIE Vinoperfect Radiance Serum . I LOVE Caudalie products , and I stock up on a bunch of these when I was in France since the prices are better there. Sadly, I have now used all that I bought, and I’m now finishing a little sample size that I have left 🙁 . I mix the serum with THE holy grail of face oils- the KORRES Wild Rose Brightening Oil – This oil is infused with real rose petals and it increases skin absorption of vitamin C by up to 1,000 percent…yup 1,000 percent!!! I definitely feel an instant boost everytime I apply this oil (at night and after I moisturize in the morning). The important thing to do here is not to rub the mixture, but instead, dab or pat into the skin, pushing the products into your pores, rather than just sliding them around on the skin’s surface.
Step Five– Apply a nighttime cream. I use the KORRES Wild Rose Sleeping Facial. A little goes a long way! This was the first product I started using from KORRES and I started seeing improvement on my skin within a few weeks. This cream is super good to even out skin texture and to decrease dullness.
The key to any skincare product/routine is patience, give it some time, and be consistent. You will be amazed when you start seeing the changes 🙂
